Description: St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School hosted Ad Astra, its annual inter-school festivities, a dynamic two-day inter-school celebration of intellect, creativity, and performance, on 1st and 2nd August. The event brought together talented students from schools across the city, offering them a spirited platform to showcase their abilities across a wide spectrum of disciplines. The occasion was graced by Ms. Abha Anant,who joined as the Chief Guest.Her dignified presence and words of encouragement set a warm and inspiring tone for the days ahead, urging participants to engage with passion and integrity. Adding immense value to the competitions were the city’s renowned personalities like J. Habibullah, Asma Hussain, Beena Krishnan, Jyotsna Mehta and many more, who served as judges. Their discerning eyes, fair evaluations, and generous encouragement fostered an atmosphere of trust, appreciation, and excellence. Each club brought a distinct flavour to the event. The Literary Club led with intellectually stimulating events such as dramatics, debates, extempore speaking, comic strip and creative writing, which challenged participants to think deeply, argue convincingly, and express imaginatively. The Science Club championed inquiry and innovation. The highlight was the futuristic newsletters prapared by various schools demonstrating their in-depth knowledge and brilliant ideas. The Home Science Club focused on the fusion of aesthetics and utility. Its events promoted sustainable practices, creativity in culinary skills. The Art Club celebrated visual expression through events that brought colour, concept, and creativity to life. Participants translated ideas into powerful artworks that reflected originality and artistic vision. The Photography Club invited students to observe and capture the world through a thoughtful lens. The Dance Club filled the stage with rhythm, expression, and energy. From traditional to contemporary styles, the performances were a blend of technique, passion, and artistry that captivated both audience and judges. The Music Club added harmony to the celebration through soul-stirring group performances. The events highlighted not just talent but also teamwork, dedication, and a love for musical expression. The two-day celebration concluded on a high note, with admiration pouring in for the discipline, creativity, and enthusiasm displayed by the participants. Every school earned appreciation and recognition in some form, ensuring that all efforts were acknowledged and celebrated. St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School was declared the Champion of Champions, having secured the highest overall points. Loreto Convent earned the position of First Runner-Up, while La Martiniere College was named the Second Runner-Up. Ad Astra truly lived up to its name—encouraging students to reach for the stars and celebrate the joy of learning beyond the classroom.
