On the 10th and 11th of October 2025, St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School had the honour of hosting the much-anticipated Inter-school Basketball Tournament 3.0. The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Rev. Father Vincent Pinto, who served as the Chief Guest and addressed the young athletes with words of encouragement and inspiration. His presence added great value to the opening ceremony, setting a tone of excitement and unity. The tournament welcomed six renowned schools, all prepared to compete in a spirit of passion, discipline, and healthy rivalry.

Over two thrilling days, the court came alive with energy, teamwork, and impressive athleticism. La Martiniere Girls’ College secured the championship title with an outstanding display of skill and strategy, while St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School proudly claimed the second position. Mount Carmel College earned third place, followed by Cathedral Senior Secondary School in fourth. Teams from St. Dominic Savio College and CMS Station Road also competed with great enthusiasm, contributing to the lively and competitive atmosphere. The tournament showcased not only talent but also respect, sportsmanship, and resilience among all players.

The closing ceremony was marked by a heartfelt address from the Principal, Miss D. Bunny, who praised every participant for their dedication and sportsmanlike conduct. She reminded the students that the value of sports lies not just in winning but in the lessons learned along the way—teamwork, perseverance, and grace in both victory and defeat. As Billie Jean King once said, “Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose—it teaches you about life.”
