Description: “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”-Henry Adams Bittersweet emotions, excitement and reverence pervaded the air as St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School bade farewell to Miss A. Charles, one of the most inspiring teachers of the institute. The ceremony was attended by Sister Anita, Sister Balika, Miss Bunny, the Principal of the school, teachers and students of the senior section. The students availed the ocassion to express their gratitude and love for their teacher and make this day an unforgettable one for her. The event commenced with the grand welcome offered to Miss Charles by the NCC cadets of the school, who escorted her to the auditorium which was followed by a heartfelt prayer, seeking the blessings of the Almighty and auspicious ceremony of lighting the lamp. The students put forth a beautiful dance performance filled with colours and life and a melodious medley saturated with vigour and enthusiasm. The office bearers of the school presented tokens of their gratitude to Miss on behalf of all the students, teachers and staff of the school. Miss R. Blythe and Miss V. Singh delivered heartwarming messages reminiscing the joyous time spent together. Overwhelmed, Mrs. Charles addressed the gathering and poured her heart out. She thanked the students for the gift of their performance. The event ended with the emotive speech by the Principal, Miss Bunny, who sincerely thanked Miss Charles for her selfless dedication and inspiring humility. She deeply lauded her effort to be adept with skills required to brave the challenging times of virtual teaching during the pandemic and leaving no stone unturned to making her teaching joyful and enriching for the little ones during those dull and restrictive days.
