The word spread of a magic spell around the campus of St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School, Lucknow at their junior school concert staged on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of November, 2023.
The musical, Happily Ever After-A Disney Dream, performed with stupendous zeal and vigour by the little Agnesians, commenced with the honouring and welcoming of the Chief Guests Rev. Fr. Rajesh D’Souza (Principal of St. Francis’ College) on 21st November, Rev. Fr. Donald D’Souza (Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Cathedral Church and Chancellor and Spokesperson, Catholic Diocese of Lucknow) on 22nd November and Rev. Fr. Dennis Naresh Lobo (Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Lucknow) on 23rd November.
The Musical, inaugurated with great splendour and grandeur was an amalgamation of some of the greatest fairytales. An endeavour to foster the need to imagine in kids, the show left the audience astounded as they witnessed a spellbinding confluence of mellifluous music and ebullient dances with enchanting and captivating display of the actors on one platform.
In harmony with its ethos of equality, the school ensured participation of every child from classes nursery to V on stage. The opportunity served as an occasion for them to shine and for the entire school to celebrate and marvel at the richness of their talents.
An unwavering belief and faith of all the characters in their dreams fuelled incessantly with hope, instilled a sense of wonder in the audience leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. From Aladdin's adventurous spirit to Cinderella's grace, The Little Mermaid's underwater magic, Snow White's timeless charm, and Simba's journey to the pride lands, each act conveyed the powerful message that dreams do come true. The little wonders skillfully captured the essence of these iconic characters, weaving a narrative that resonated in the magic of dreams. With their acting prowess, eloquence, grace and energy, the audacious Peter Pan played by Anayah Sharik Khan and Snigdha Pal, the unrelenting and resolute Ann Marie played by Kulsum Fatima and Misheeta and the adorable and effervescent Tinker Bell played by Akrishti Jaiswal and Sasha Bajpai garnered thunderous applauses from the audience.
Each performance was deeply lauded by all the esteemed chief guests. They congratulated the school for its efforts to envision, prepare and render such a spectacular show and thanked the little ones for a visual treat of this calibre. While addressing the tender hearts, they emphasized that it is dreams that keep us awake and we must pursue them undeterred to accomplish
them all. Gratefulness for their words of guidance, appreciation and encouragement pervaded the air with smiles and twinkling eyes of the budding artists.
The Principal, Mrs. Debra Bunny, expressed her gratitude and appreciation, acknowledging the painstaking endeavour of the students and members of staff, to make the Musical a colossal success. She also extended her gratitude to the dignitaries and parents for their time, support and encouragement.
